ROOT CANAL TREATMENT:
- The root canal procedure is performed to save a damaged or badly infected tooth, instead of extracting it.
When root canal is indicated?
- Tooth pain that doesn’t go away
- Sensitivity to heat and cold
- Swollen gums
- Tooth discoloration
- Pain when pressure is applied
- A chipped or cracked tooth
SINGLE SETTING RCT:
- Root canal treatment that is completed in one single setting is classified as a single sitting root canal treatment.
MULTIPLE SITTING RCT:
- Multiple visit endodontic treatment is performed in the same sequence of events as that of single visit but they are carried out in 3-4 appointments to help reduce chances of infection.
